L/CPL Robert J. Slattery, Det #206, "SCUTTLEBUTT NEWS", Jul 2022 - #2
Commandant's Corner

July has been an active month. We had our Monthly meeting on July 6th and commemorated the 55th anniversary of the death of the Detachments name sake L/Cpl Robert J. Slattery. SgtMaj Eddie Neas made the presentation and a wreath was placed in front of our Meeting place the American Legion Hall in Whippnay. After the meeting we had sandwiches and soft drinks to honor Robert Slattery.

A personal treasure was found and returned to the Family of a deceased Marine, Sgt John McAdams Jr.

A sad but eventful day for all.

Semper Fi,

Paul J. Brown

All Hands, Hi All Iím back

I had the honor of attending the Eagle Scout ceremony for Arnik Narang from Troop 12

Note I gave Jayson Melhorn his cert that I had on hand, his ceremony was 3/14/20 but was canceled because of Covid. He was so happy to get the cert, he said you can always trust Marines to get the job done.

Eagle Scout is the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. Since 1912 more than two Million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout rank. In the words of the Eagle Scout Promise, Eagles do their best each day to make their training an example, their rank and their influence count strongly for better Scouting and for better citizenship in their troop, in their community, and in their contacts with other people. To this they pledge their sacred honor
