Eagle Scout ceremony for Boy Scout Troop 155 of Hanover Township, NJ

On July 24th 2021 I had the honor of attending the Eagle Scout ceremony for Boy Scout Troop 155 of Hanover Township, NJ, they had 7 Eagle Scouts: Ryan Walker, Nicholas Romanowsky, Joshua Danus, Steven Fasano, Tyler Feret, Jacob Lieto, and Timothy Wainscott.

Eagle Scout is the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. Since 1912 more than two Million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout rank. In the words of the Eagle Scout Promise, Eagles do their best each day to make their training an example, their rank and their influence count strongly for better Scouting and for better citizenship in their troop, in their community, and in their contacts with other people.

To this they pledge their sacred honor


The Scholarship Committee Meets

Four members of the Scholarship Committee met on Wednesday, July 20 at 7pm via Zoom. Richard Bordonaro lead the committee discussion with Debbie Burkland, Paul Brown and Tom Miller in attendance. During the meeting certain rules were discussed and recommendations were suggested. Rich will relook at some of the requirements and make changes or additions. These will be discussed at the August Scholarship Committee meeting in mid August. †The committee also discussed potential fundraising opportunities in the upcoming year to make the scholarships sustainable over the long term.

The scholarship committee also reviewed five applications that were submitted by currently enrolled, post high school students. †The committee will be presenting itís scholarship recommendations to the detachment membership at the August meeting.
