Installation of the 2018-2019 Officers

The Slattery Detachment held their monthly November meeting at the American Legion on November 7th. It started on time at 1930. There were approximately 40 members of the detachment along with 7 wives and girlfriends plus 6 State officers in attendance. Right after the "Roll-call of Officers" the meeting was turned over to the State MCL officers for the installation of the 2018-2019 officers.

After a brief speech about what is occurring with in the State MCL the installation took place. A new Judge Advocate and a new Commandant took their place next to the remainder of the officer board from last year. Michael Dougherty replaced Robert Stalzer as Judge Advocate and Tom Miller replaced Eddie Neas as Commandant. They raised their right hands and repeated the oath of office then took their respected places at the table.

The meeting went on in the normal course finally ending about 2015 with Eddie Moscariello winning the 50/50. After that, we were treated to a great dinner of salads, sandwiches, drink, and cake. The group that assembled the food and drink were made up by John Andrews with sandwiches/salads from Longfellows in Morristown, Eddie Neas with the "Happy 243rd Birthday Marines" decorated cake from Acme and Tom Miller with the rest of the food and drink items.

The group finally left the American Legion at approximately 2200 after cleaning up.

Semper Fi,
Tom Miller
